Handy back-up but that's about it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a straightforward, single-mode flashlight with a 40-lumen output. It’s just enough for basic tasks right in front of you like finding keys, looking under the sink, or a quick walk around the block. The beam is a more focused spotlight, not a wide flood, so you’ll need to sweep it around to check your surroundings. And while you can still make out objects over 30 meters away, it’s nowhere near as clear as it is up close.
The pros are its comfortable, remote‑like shape that slips easily into a pocket, the simple on/off switch, and the accurate three‑hour battery life. Its lightweight, mostly plastic build is also a plus for my emergency kit, though it doesn’t feel durable enough for rough everyday use.
The main downsides are the build quality and the finicky charging system. It feels a bit cheap, and the smooth plastic is slippery if your hands are wet. Charging uses a built-in slide-out AC plug, but the mechanism feels flimsy and doesn't lock with a reassuring click. The charging light is also unhelpful. It just glows red the whole time, so you have to guess when it’s fully charged. In short, this is a decent backup light for a glove box or go-bag, but it’s not something I’d trust as a primary, everyday flashlight.

Weatheready; Ready for Severe Weather!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fantastic! Before trying this product, I did not know such a device existed. This is a seriously essential product by Energizer! I love this. We get power outages in the summer sometimes with severe storms. I plugged this into an outlet in our basement. It will turn on as soon as the power goes out, which is just so awesome. I put it in the hallway so we will have a clear path for sheltering from severe storms. With a young baby, having a lit path and not having to search frantically for a flashlight is such a good idea. The Weatheready compact rechargeable LED light is small enough to hold in one hand and what's really cool is that the plug in prongs are RETRACTABLE, so you can truly use it as a handheld flashlight. What a cool, useful product. All you do it plug it in, turn it to on (it will leave the bulb off while charging) and then when the power goes out it will turn on. Additionally, you can unplug it and turn the flashlight on; I definitely recommend having a few of these plugged in throughout your home for those severe storms and power outages!
