Needs robust Rescue App.

The watch is excessively complicated, but lacks the most importan app. It needs to detect a fall or accident, check for harm, and auto-call support. Instead it requires me to figure out how to sk for help. All the "Activities", "Glances", and other marketing-speak make it hard to identify, verify and test a clear path to a simple safety watch with other fun properties, That said, the battery life is its strongest point, and far ahead of the completition.
I had the Garmin Epix Gen 2. I then went to the Apple Ultra 3 and for almost a year I tried so hard to not go back to Garmin. Finally, I couldn’t resist and pulled the trigger on the Quatix 8 pro. Wow!! So glad to be back with the Garmin family. There is 0 comparison in the health tracking and training abilities. I absolutely love the data, style, and of course battery life.
It’s nice. But I’ve noticed a couple of glitches it has. For example, when I clear my notifications, a “double screen” comes up for a little while where text is on top of each other. I don’t know if this can be fixed with a software update or not.
Very happy with this watch. Both scuba, boat electronics, and trolling motor integration is what sold me. InReach feature gives me redundant satellite emergency response out on the water. Unexpected surprise in the effectiveness and convenience of the led flashlight. Can’t forget about the amazing battery life.
Top notch watch. Had it a few weeks and still learning what all it can do. Big feature is the Garmin SOS with satellite connectivity. If you fish offshore its about a "Must Have" item for those far days out on the water where you leave cell phone coverage. Basically a wrist mounter EPirb. Also will connect to your Garrmin chart plotter and auto pilot
Overall, I think this is a great watch. Two things I wish it had are 1) The ability to control how long the second hand displays (more than 15 seconds) and 2) how long the bright display stays bright. I realize one is trading battery life for display time and I would like to have knowledge of the display impacts and make the decision myself. I am an EMT and need several minutes of bright display and a second hand.
I’ve been using Garmin for about 15 years and I love the brand's products, but honestly, this watch exceeded all my expectations—whether at sea, at the gym, or during day-to-day activities like finding my car in a huge parking lot. It has become my most-used gadget; I wear it all day long and I love it. Honestly, I recommend it to everyone.
