I bought this product about two weeks ago. The buttons do not work when I tried to set the clock, furthermore it does not run on batteries either.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review. If you need assistance trying to get this set up please email us at prodinfo@dpiinc.com we would be happy to walk you through the necessary steps. You are correct that there is only a battery backup for clock: requires 2 AA batteries (not included), it runs using the included AC/DC power adapter.
