Filtering Issues and Frustrating Experience

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to love this system considering how much money I spent on it, but I’m honestly disappointed. The filtration process seems inconsistent because it only filters about half of the tank while the other half of the water just sits there. For the price, I expected a smoother and more reliable experience without having to constantly question whether it’s working properly. The water tastes fine, but the functionality has been frustrating and not what I expected from a premium product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This machine has transformed how I look at water at home for myself. Before, I would need to buy filters every 2 months and use a conventional pitcher filter. With how hard the tap water is where I live the filters I was using could maybe last a good month before the taste would noticeably change. Granted I've only been using the AquaTru for a few weeks now, the taste difference has been night and day. As far as water quality goes it is A+.
I do like that the machine is fairly small and easy to leave on my kitchen countertop. With that being said, it comes at the cost of needing to frequently refill the water tank. If you're new to reverse osmosis machines (like me), you'll be surprised at the waste water that needs to be emptied every time. It just seems to be the cost of getting great tasting water. I do find sometimes that it also is a bit noisy. If there was a way to insulate the sound more on the machine that would be a huge plus. Granted, it isn't extremely loud, I just have a pretty quiet environment where I live.
My biggest recommendation would be to buy another glass carafe. I think it was a game changer for me when I had a few days with only one carafe and found that it almost got a bit annoying with the constant refilling and noise. The plus to having the extra carafe is that you can keep one in the fridge and one for room temp and just leave in the machine. You'll never run out of water in this approach!
I would recommend this machine to anyone looking to find an easy way to get clean tasting water for the long term without needing to change a filter every month. Really glad I made this purchase. At first I thought the price was steep, but over time that unit could pay for itself per gallon.

Obviously having to empty and wash out the back tank every time is more effort than the brands that just have a single vessel and the water flows through a filter. But I believe in the Reverse Osmosis process. It tastes fine, probably because I paid to the optional cartridge that restores the taste.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little thrown off when I first got it. It looked smaller than I imagined. And when I learned that there was "waste water" I was like. . . "Oh man, I'm gonna be refiling this thing up constantly!" But once the water came through - I was very happy. The water is fresh - I feel confident drinking it. I add minerals to it when I want. Everything tastes better. My tea and coffee. . . I'm excited how I can now stop buying plastic bottles for good!
There's a bit of a learning curve at the start - but you'll be so happy you have it.

After tons of research we landed on the Carafe, setup was easy with the most annoying part having to hand wash everything with soap and water before you. . but I get it. So far the filtering works great, we updated to the app so the alerts are helpful, and the water tastes really crisp.
Very happy with our purchase!
Didn’t give 5 stars due to cost and ongoing maintenance will make this purchase the most expensive in the category.
