With the first startup it worked ok and loaded the software. I could not get it to see my HP W10 computer on my network which seems strange and is causing difficulties. then this morning it is completely different and does not recognize me. wiped out my desktop icons and is in a new world. It acts like it is the first time I've turned it on.
This is my 5th HP computer. '91 was a 386 SX-16 and then a few laptops over the years - the older laptop from '14 still works; that's impressive! The original battery is still alive...
What I don't like is the overly sensitive "rocker" as opposed to the older L/R buttons on the touch pad. Also there's something I've NEVER seen before...the up/down page ▲▼ buttons are wonky - some web pages scroll just fine and some "page up - page down", NOT scroll; that's a time eating pain.
It does boot fast though....wow! Windows 11 is NOT intuitive - 10 was easy to figure out in just a few hours..not HP's fault. Overall I'd buy another one.
Great computer, fast processor, lightweight. I know most people are not looking for this, but I wish it had a CD/DVD drive. Since it doesn't come with a user's manual, it took me about three weeks to figure out how to turn on the keyboard backlighting. I'm old school and like to read and refer to it in the early days of ownership. Set up was quick and easy, it was the first time I had ever done it myself. I use it for board work and shopping. So far, so good!
