Great Pride Month Build!
on June 19, 2021
Posted by: TelepathicPenguin85
I bought this for my niece and nephew to celebrate Pride Month. I want them to grow up respecting all different types of people because everyone is awesome! I also bought one for myself as a collector’s item. It is a simple build with a huge symbolic theme attached to it. I recommend it for beginners and for those who are hobbyists of Lego.

Recurring/Annual Theme Please! :)

This set is not overly complex, and took me about 20-25 minutes to complete. That said…this set was a pleasure to build, and an even greater joy to display. Representation is important, and I love that LEGO has given us “Everyone Is Awesome” this year acknowledging PRIDE and the LGBTQIA+ community. I wish more companies in the toy industry would do the same.
I’ve read reviews commenting on the 18+ status of this set, and while I agree this would be appropriate for all ages given the simplicity of the build, I wonder if the age rating has more to do with this being more of a display piece. Perhaps LEGO felt there wasn’t a lot of play value for children…? I’d suggest buyers use their best judgement, and purchase accordingly.
I love this set. It’s simple. It’s impactful. It’s attractive. It’s important. I’d love to see this become an annually recurring theme for LEGO. Maybe smaller sets representing the different LGBTQIA+ flags, minifigures representing members of our community who are differently abled, or even parade floats with minifigures celebrating the diversity of the community. :)

this set is awesome, too

After sorting the elements, I found the build very rhythmic and meditative (and enjoyable). I did move the 1×2 plates to the ends of their columns, which I thought improved the flow of the tiles.
I'm especially happy to see this set include Mini Wig, No. 267 (element #6269081), which has only appeared in two other sets (and one CMF: “Programmer”, one of my favorites).
¡I'm looking forward to creating alternative builds! This set brightens up my home (and makes my heart super happy).

I love this set and what it represents! I bought a second set for my daughter to build so she can mix all of the colors in her own style. Really fun to pose the mini figs!

Super sweet and fun build!

I love that Lego made a pride lego set, and it is especially sweet considering the name of the set is 'Everyone is Awesome.' The set itself is easy to build and visually pleasing to look at. I really love the product and it makes me happy.

Not Awesome

The manual was a crinkled mess I could not flatten out. The paper was thin and feels like it could rip with one use. The stuff is as thin as Christmas wrapping paper possibly thinner. There was not a single extra piece. When did this start? Lego kits have had a few extra parts for as long as I can remember. The top of the wall is half hallow to save what 2 pieces perhaps 4? The whole thing feels like cost cutting. The arms of the far left and right figures hang off the set so you can’t really use it as a bookend. The figures sit so close together you can’t do anything with their arms. You can’t pose them to have personality and have them stand nicely on the set. “stand here and be a drone just like me“
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you!

My teen daughter came out this February as lesbian. We’re so very proud of her and who she’s becoming. We bought her this set as her first Pride Month gift! She loved that the monochromatic mini figs were without faces and had all the different hair styles. She had fun putting it together. I had fun sitting and watching… pointing to bricks that she was hunting for. Thank you for helping the young and old feel included and represented!
