Excellent Belgian Waffle Maker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best waffle maker I've ever had. It's light and easy to handle. It cooks up the waffles quickly and they brown nicely. The outside is crispy and the inside is fluffy and light. It's well worth the cost. Hubby and I will get a lot of use out of this. I made blueberry waffles first, but you can be rest assured that we'll be trying many different recipes.

Fairly quick and easy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just received my waffle maker a few days ago. So far I really like it - easy to make waffles and cleaning up is a cinch. Always let the waffle maker cool before handling or cleaning it. Made Belgium waffles from a mix - very good.

Great Feature

It has a great feature to allow you to decide how crispy you want your waffles. I love mine dark and crunchy and my husband prefers his lighter. It's easy to clean and doesn't take up much room when storing it. I love it.

Good little waffle iron

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like that this stands upright for storage. Makes it so easy to take it out rather than storing on top of/ or under something. The first time it was heated it, it had a horrible smell. I don’t know if it was because I hadn’t gotten all the soap off from the first washing although I did rinse it twice (with clean towel). I let it cool down and started over. No bad smell but I did throw out the first waffle (only need to do when waffle iron brand new) following directions for another waffle iron I use to have. It doesn’t make quite as deep as a Belgian waffle but it is not as thin as a typical waffle either. The waffles didn’t stick and didn’t leave any crumbs on the grid (big plus for me!), which may have been because I didn’t have any butter on hand so used oil in my recipe. I still wish it had removable grids. I really like that you can pick the crispness you want although the highest setting was not any browner (4 stars only) then any of the other settings – the difference of the waffle as far as crisp or soft isn’t a great difference on any of the settings. The difference was very subtle but I liked the lowest setting and family members like the highest. The top grid heats higher than the bottom one – top of waffle browner then bottom. In the instructions there is no indication of how much batter you can put in the maker. Ugh! I didn’t want it over flowing so the first few were too small until I figured out how much the “right” amount was. Also when I searched if any recipes for this maker found it is no longer made. So makes the question if I would recommend this product rather obsolete. Over all this isn’t a bad little waffle maker, do I wish it had a few more amenities? Yes but for making basic waffles it is really nice. I plan to use it at least couple times a month as long as it keeps the non-stick.

Works Fast!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this Hamilton Beach Belgian Waffle Maker to try and review. First impressions out of the box was that it is exactly the perfect size for a giant Belgian waffle! It was simple to set up. Just plug it in and put on the desired temperature. I made up some waffle mix, greased the inside and poured in some mix. I put the top down and waited until there was steam coming from the maker. The end result was a perfect waffle! I did pour a bit too much mix inside the maker and it overflowed where the top and bottom meet. But clean up was a breeze! Just wipe the excess off. It took about 4 minutes for the perfect waffle. Very easy to store as it's just a single unit. Easy instructions as well. It was hot to touch on the metal part but the handle was not hot at all.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first got the Belgian waffle maker, base on the picture it seem like a smaller size, when I open it up it look small, when I fist did the first waffle I was surprise on how big they turn out to be. This waffle maker is perfect in size and fits perfectly away. Waffles don't stick and they come out big, fluffy and soft, since I don't have too much time with the waffle maker I still can't get my waffles to come out crispy on the outside and equally brown on both sides. Other that that I am happy with the waffle maker and my family loves them!

Cut my finger on the handle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As soon as this was unboxed I cut my index finger on the inside edge of the handle. the plastic has a rough jagged edge on the underside. I ended up using one of those silicone grippers that looks like a ducks bill to open and close the maker. The waffle maker made a good waffle and the interior was fairly easy to clean. The outside was hard to clean of oily spray residue and It never really came off. Slimy fingerprints showed how hard it was to clean even with full strength Dawn dish liquid. I'm not happy with this product at all. Very disappointed in it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
