Their finest to date

As an adult I've been purchasing and building Lego Technic for a long time, my last before the Chiron was the Porsche GT3. The Lego Chiron is an absolute triumph in design, engineering and marketing, the designers have absolutely nailed it, it is truly amazing in every detail, the way it looks, the way it builds and works even the boxs and instruction manuals are beautiful and all add to the total experience, even the build to release, the dedicated web pages and podcasts are integral to the Bugatti/Lego partnership and they make you feel part of it. It's way better than the Lego Porsche GT3 which I reakon Porsche missed a trick with regard to build up to launch and the marketing and making the Lego builder feel there're building something special, the Lego Chiron does this in with ease. Most of us won't get near a real Bugatti Chiron but the Lego Chiron is surely the next best thing! Yes it is very expensive but so is the real thing. Its definitely worth the cost in my opinion. The only negative as others have mentioned the shock absorbers are too soft for the weight of the car, it would be nice if there was a modified shock available to sort this problem. If you love Lego Technic, buy this Lego Chiron you won't be disappointed. Surely the Pinicle of Lego Technic.

Fantastic Quality!

The Bugatti Chiron is very beautiful! I believe LEGO really listened to feedback on the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and created something remarkable. It is aesthetically pleasing and sturdy enough to show off. I find myself picking it up and studying it over and over. From a Technic standpoint, the new beveled clutch gear and changeover catch are going to rewrite the way gearboxes work in the future. The space they save is tremendous. From a Creator standpoint, the new elements add a refined level of detail. From a build standpoint, the instructions are very well planned. It is easy to see the level of thought and attention to detail put into every aspect of the set. Overall, it is very hard to find a fault with the Chiron.

Mechanical Masterpiece

As a mechanical engineer I wanted to take my time building this product to be able to appreciate the designers intents. I was pleased and disappointed in some aspects of the design. Positives Chassis design Gearbox Engine detail Interior detail Paddle shifting Wheels and disc brakes Rear end detail Steering detail Box layout and instructions 3599 parts for the price Negatives Can not see engine detail Rear deck will not open Too many gaps in the body detail
As you can see from my list I have more positives than negatives. I can not wait for the next 1/8 scale super car.

Great set

A great set. Very addicting build. Great similarity with the real Bugatti Chiron. To join to the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. The set is overpriced in my opinion. Congratulations Lego Technic! I will be waiting for new upcoming car. Maybe a Ferrari LaFerrari or a Lamborghini Veneno?

Pretty Sweet Build

A little bit more detailed than the GT3 build was aesthetically, but I didn’t feel like the gearbox was as tedious or painstaking. Love the color combo of the two builds together. The wing key feels a little unnecessary to me, but still cool. Much like with the GT3, I loved the presentation as far as packaging. Nice tough with putting the boxes in upside down and having a different image of the Chiron. It would be cool if the “authentic serial numbers” meant something and you could tell if you had an older produced set. Looking forward to the next super car technic build!

Simply Epic

This is my second time building this type of supercar after Porsche 911 GT3 RS and I would say it was a bit challenging to build but learn a lot. I like how this AWD physics work and stunning set.
The only hiccups I found so far is the front suspension part of this set is saggy while I’m pressing it. First I thought it could be my building error until I found from other reviews that they have the same issue as mine.
I would recommend to someone who’s car enthusiast looking for better execution and interested in how this function works.

A New Build Experience
on July 7, 2018

In my younger days, I built street rods and restored old cars. When this model appeared in one of my automotive publications, I was intrigued. Being a car nut, the Bugatti auto has always been a fascination. Although I was not familiar with modern day Lego products, I had to have this set. While waiting for the model to arrive I watched part of the 6 hour build video and listened to the blog. However, I did not appreciate the level of difficulty this model involved. Needless to say, my build time was about twice as long as the video. The biggest initial challenges were recognizing some of the individual pieces from the pictures. Then later in the build, finding where the pieces fit was sometimes perplexing. Overall the whole building process was very enjoyable and rewarding. The quality of the packaging and design of the build was outstanding. I marvel at the fact that there were no pieces missing. I admit that I am now hooked on building other Lego models, but that's OK since I have plenty of time to devote to this pleasurable endeavor-- did I mention I'm 76?
