Great features on this cable ready Smart TV

I bought my 55 inch Samsung a month ago, and since it was only one left, they put it on hold for me and I drove to the next city and picked it up. It was waiting for me. I did not have to get out of the car. It was super easy. I have a technology guy who met me at my house and installed it and within a half an hour he was up and running. Couldn’t be happier.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Terrible rendering and contrast

I have been so disappointed with this TV. I am glad that I purchased the VIP warranty. Had to replace the main panel twice already in less then a year. It still has a difficult time rendering dark shadows. Watching darker shows like Wednesday or Black Rabbit is nearly impossible.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We appreciate your input on the picture quality of Samsung's Q80D TV. If the image you’re seeing doesn't meet your expectations, there are several adjustments you can make to the picture settings.
Go to Home > Menu > Settings > All Settings > Picture > Picture Mode ...and select the mode that best fits your usage:
1. Standard: Is the default mode suitable for general viewing environments 2. Dynamic: Makes the picture brighter and clearer in bright viewing environments 3. Eco: Provided to save energy 4. Movie: Suitable for watching TV or movies in a dark room 5. Filmmaker Mode: Provides source content just as the creators intended. If the image is defined as Filmmaker Mode, it’ll automatically switch to Filmmaker Mode while watching.
Intelligent Mode enables the TV to recognize and analyze the surroundings, noise, content, and your usage patterns to provide the best viewing experience. You can enable Intelligent Mode by going to Menu > Settings > All Settings > General & Privacy > Intelligent Mode Settings > Intelligent Mode.

Worst motherboard

The motherboard failed shortly after one year of use, just as the warranty period ended. For a premium television, this kind of critical hardware failure is unacceptable and extremely disappointing.
A product at this price point is expected to last far longer without major issues. The repair cost is high, and post-warranty support offers little assistance, leaving the customer to bear the full expense.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend Samsung QLED TVs and advise potential buyers to consider alternatives with stronger reliability and after-sales support.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Stunning Caribbean Sea Clarity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Jaw dropping is an understatement when it comes to the Samsung QN50Q80DAFXZA Samsung 50” Class Q80D QLED 4K Smart TV. Now I am coming from a previous TV that was almost 10 years old, so this upgrade had me gasping and saying my ooohhhs and ahhhs with the utmost of delight. Honestly I felt like a kid in a candy store. Not only was my picture clarity otherworldly, the sound that came out of this 50 inch visual dream box, was nothing short of loud, proud and magnificent. No complaints whatsoever! The unit doesn't come with wall mounting hardware, which honestly was a slight bummer. There is, however, a very high quality stand included. We mounted ours with a simple universal mount and couldn't be happier. The interface is super fast. Adding my streaming apps was a breeze and setting the TV up to the Samsung Smart Things App took seconds. It even allowed for me to use my smart phone as a remote once setup was complete. Very swift! The Remote: Well, talk about a whole new upgrade in the remote department of things. This remote can be charged using a port (wire not included however) or the best method, the solar cell on the back. I don't know why this tickled my fancy so much, but it did! Low on battery? Turn the remote over and face it towarda the sun. Very cool! I'm talking lighting fast, crystal clear clarity and sound that fills even a larger room. Hiccups? Well unfortunately I did run into a few small hiccups. The first was the lack of connection to my Alexa Cube. Granted normally you wouldn't need this device, because this Samsung TV has Alexa built into it. However, I use Alexa Studio as my surround sound because I prefer true surrou d sound over the sound that comes from the television. Sadly, the units wouldn't quite stay connected. This is not necessarily a deal breaker by any means. It just needed to be noted. The next small hiccup was that I found the user window to sometimes glitch up and freeze if I was trying to scroll or browse too quickly on the remote. Other than that though, my final thoughts are that this TV won't dissapoint. The clarity is unlike anything I've personally ever seen or owned before so I am incredibly happy. Is it perfect? No. But is it pretty darn close? Absolutely! I don't imagine anyone who was contemplating purchasing this unit would be dissapointed, nor would they regret their purchase.

Amazing graphics and picture quality

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is literally one of the best TVs I've ever owned. The picture is so sharp and clear that it's such a pleasure to watch my favorite shows. The TV was easy to set up. I love the base on this TV because it's very heavy-duty flat metal instead of little plastic legs. Once you put the base on, you can set the TV up where you want it and it's very sturdy. I was able to easily set up an account with Samsung and then get all my previous apps that I have and use. The setup really was super simple, one of the easiest I've had when setting up a TV. There's just so much you can do with this TV and you have access to a lot of programs and movies with this TV. The functions that you can set up on this TV are superior. You can do voice activation, if you need help with seeing different apps or applications you can actually have a voice guide set up that will tell you what you're doing at all times, you can hook this up to Alexa, and the list is just extensive of all the wonderful features on this television. I absolutely love that you can play games and do not need a console. You can access the internet. This is just so much more than your standard TV. We put it in our bedroom and love to watch TV at night or play games. It has plenty of ports for you to attach digital devices that you want to use like game controllers or you can do them wireless like we did. Overall I would say this TV is exceptional and I don't think anyone would be disappointed.
