I would much rather have my TV mounted on the wall. It takes up so much less space. When we got our new(ish) TV for our bedroom, I decided to switch out the old mount as well. Unlike the old mount, we decided we didn't need any frills, no tilts or swivels, etc.The Mount-It! Fixed TV Wall Mount was a perfect choice. Installing the mount is a breeze, even if you're not that handy. The mount comes apart into two pieces, once you remove the two screws on the top that connect them together. Once apart, attach the TV plate to your TV with the included screws. There are two sets of screw holes, so it should be fairly universal. If I were to have any complaints, it would have been nice to include a space set that distances the plate from sitting directly on the TV. I would recommend cables with a 90 degree angle on the plug, to minimize space needed between the wall and TV. I ended up picking up longer screws and some plastic spacers at the hardware store to move to the TV out about 1 1/2" to accommodate my HDMI streaming stick. Even using a 90 degree adapter, it was a little tight.Mount-It! already has attached a small bubble level on the back plate, so once you get it at the height you want, you'll know it's level and you don't need any extra tools. If you already do a bunch of random "fix-its" around the house, install should be fairly self explanatory. I don't normally have a second set of hands around. I found easiest to set the top hole, tighten the screw so the plate is snug, but moves. It's easy to adjust until level and mark the second hole. Always remember to use wall anchors (two are included), so that you have a good hold. No one wants there expensive TV falling off the wall.If you remember when you took them apart, the two plates connect via a slide channel. Just line up the TV with this channel and slide it together. Replace the two lock screws that hold the plates together and you're done! Minus the experimenting with spacer size, install took me about 10 minutes of putzing about. Please note, I was lucky enough to receive this product at discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.
This works well in our 5th wheel trailer. We bought it so we could leave our 26 inch flat tv in place while we travel. I can't say it is perfect because our tv is slightly rounded on the back, which creates a jiggle of the tv when our trailer is in motion. We fixed that by velcro blocks on the bottom of the tv where it meets the wall, thus a firm setting. As others have noted, be sure to plug in any cords to DVDs etc. before you hang the tv. There is no room for any cord to stick out from the back of the tv; only from the sides of the tv. It is close to impossible to see where the wall bracket is so one can slide the included tv bracket in place. I don't want to take the tv down very often. Also, there is no way to pull the tv away from the wall to angle it if needed. Last year we had installed a different mounting bracket that swung out from the wall. That did not work for us because of all the movement while we were on the road. In this way, this stationary mount works very well.
