Should speaker mic is a great option for those like me who are getting older and need the speaker closer to one's ear. Plus I like not having to grab the radio itself to respond to a message. Some of our volunteer prescribed fire practitioners have commented that they find the mic speaker doesn't perform as well as the radio speaker. I haven't found this to be the case.

I bought these on a whim hoping they would be good for when we go hunting and off road exploring. I couldn’t be more pleased with them. They remind me a lot of the ones I used while in the Marine Corps. They are not cheaply put together and take a beating well. Our first day out to off road and explore we scratched up our radio and dropped the handset all over the place. They held up real well taking them in and out of the cars as we stopped along the way to get pictures and explore on foot.
