Excellent product! Radios come with more channels and privacy codes than I think anyone could ever hope to use, but that is a good thing. GXT1000 has a great reputation for a reason. Sturdy construction, clear comms and range is as good as the environment will allow. Accessory earpiece is not conducive for an ear, it just doesn't fit well. Verdict: Excellent!

First off. I think midland has done a very good job making their radios affordable to any and everyone. With my radio in my first range rest I was able to communicate perfectly up to 1.7 miles away in my city! I haven’t found the full range yet. But I can stand in my driveway and talk with my buddy in his driveway almost two miles away. These radios are worth the money if they were 50% more expensive!

Great but don't work whit my head set

I had a previus version of these and worked perfect with a pit crew head set. This new version seems that changed the mic speak/plug and now speaker works but not the mic. Please let me know what kind of plug should I use and if is there any adaptor to use.

I am excited to try these radios out while camping with my group to keep track of each other. These radios come with rechargeable batteries or use your own AA. They can be charged in your car or with AC power adapter. Plenty of channels, 50 pre-programmed channels with many privacy channels available!

I bought these to use between the grain cart driver and combine. We have never had good luck with walkie talkies before, but I thought these looked worth a try. They come in very clear and have great range for what they are. The only problem I have is they only seem to last half of the day before the batteries go dead. Then we're back to using cell phones. We use them on high power, but we aren't talking on them a lot so I am pretty disappointed.

Hello, using the radios on high power will drain the battery quicker. Depending on the distance you need to talk we would recommend using the radios on low or medium power to save battery life. In addition, you can also purchase rechargeable AA batteries that will have better battery life. If you do purchase rechargeable AA batteries only recharge them with the charger that came with the batteries, do not charge them on the desktop charger. Finally, you might look at the MXT115 MicroMobile radios that you can easily install via DC outlet in the combine and tractor. They will provide you with way better range. Because of this these are our most popular radio for the farm.

GTX1000X3VP4 GMRS radios. First time to use mobile radios. Bought them because even if the range was only half the stated value (36 miles) it would be good enough. Got the FCC license and made sure the radio's settings were correct to TX using Hi power. Testing in a rural area, in the open, no high buildings, good weather & line of sight without forests the maximum range was a bit over 2 miles. This was disappointing. I was hoping that with the advertised 5 Watts of power I would get at least a 5-mile range. Only one DC charger is offered with the 3-pack unit, I wish there had been one per radio so you could charge them all individually as you are driving. Within the limited range area, the radios work well, easy to set & use. Did not use them long enough to test battery life. My first priority for buying these radios was usable range. These radios did not meet my expectations.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
