We originally purchased 8 of these radios for our church. We recently added 4 more to our inventory and we have been very pleased with the performance and the price. These units work well either indoors or out and they have given us no problems to deal with. I also recommend the ear pieces we ordered to use with the radios. This combination is perfect for our use and I give them our highest rating.

I purchased the LXT 600 VP3 which claimed up to #0 mile range but I couldn't even get 5. My husband and I tried everything and different channels and conditions with no luck. I do like the walkie talkie but it will be used for close communications.

These radios work fairly well with the exception of the call alert "feature" that produces the most annoying alert sounds that CAN NOT be disabled. Consequently, if the botton is accidental touched, all the radios produce the most irritating sounds sending my security scrambling. I would rate these radios higher if it weren't for this singularly aggravating oversight of not to being able to disarm the alert. I would not buy these again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My wife and I travel the country in our RV. We use these radios to back the RV into parking places and to communicate around the camp ground.
