[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I picked this up to use with my car tuning laptop so that it would not get stolen while at the track,the locking mech don't fit my laptop with the way it is made with just 2 small tabs that when you twist the barrel on the tumbler they spread out and lock into place, my laptop uses more of a small heavy cable that feeds thru a small hole, if i would have known that this locking cable wasn't like that i would not of ordered it,seems to be pretty decent quality over all and a pretty good length of cable but the numbers on the tumbler is very very hard to read unless the light is just right, if its to bright out you can not see the numbers and if its to dim out you can not see the numbers, even with great eyesight they are very hard to make out what number you are on, then you are supposed to line the numbers up with these tiny holes for the combo, i found it easier to line them up to the holes the first time then take a look at the numbers just outside the holes and use those numbers instead.

This Universal lock is compatible with Kensington® T-bar™, Noble® WEDGELOCK®, Kensington® Nano lock slots. These are the different types of lock slots that come on most standard laptops. It sounds to me like yours is a car-tuning laptop that may have a different type of slot that is unique to that brand. Intimidating but easier than expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve never used a laptop lock before so I wasn’t quite sure what I was doing. The instruction sheet looked intimidating but you really only use a few of the steps for basic use. I set the numbers to default, turned the reset screw as instructed, set the numbers in the small window to the code I chose and turned the screw back. The lock area on my laptop was easy to find so I inserted it with the combo in place, turned the wheel until it latched firmly then spun the numbers out of combo. Done. The release wheel doesn’t budge until you enter the right combo. They have additional accessories you can buy like an anchor but you can also affix it around something that doesn’t detach as per the instructions. It’s a nice sturdy lock though and will definitely make it so no one can walk off with it. It’s heavy duty like large dog tethers so it’s not going to be easy to crack without attracting a lot of attention.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I wanted to make sure that the laptop was secure but didnt want to carry around a key...this is perfect! You can set your own combination and the cord is over 6 feet long so it's plenty to attach to something. 5/5!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my husband because he has a very large toolbox with extremely expensive tools and equipment at his job that he bought himself. While the toolbox does lock, he said he wanted just a little extra security when it came to his property. I got this for him. He was excited, but needed to try it first. I’ve heard nothing but good things from him since taking it to work. He says he feels like his tools are much more secure and safe.
