Seems to be exactly what I needed, just enough to prevent damage from scratches and a little padding in case of a short drop off the coffee table... I do wish it had a strap, but understand it's meant more as an extra layer inside a backpack or for around the house, so maybe that's for the better, so i don't do anything stupid with it!
