For the first 6 days this unit was perfect. Exactly what we always wanted. Then it started leaking and got worse as we continued makyour coffee. Finally when we had to empty drain dish 3 times for one session WE SENT IT BACK FOR REFUND.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Compared to the Hamilton Beach unit that we actually wore out (spring became too weak to pour coffee), the Cuisinart coffee maker is a much improved unit. My wife and I especially like the lighted area when the lever is pushed to dispense the coffee.

This is the second coffee maker like this that we have purchased and we love them! We like not having a caraffe to deal with. The coffee dispenser makes things so easy. Our first machine lasted about 5 years and then we bought the same model to replace it. Good quality and good coffee!

This the third coffeemaker like this we have had. The first 2 lasted years, this one, about 2 weeks. A spring popped out and that was it. Dont make them like they use to.

This is the fifth coffee maker I've owned of this model. After some time, they all seem to start dripping uncontrollably from the spout. The new one has to have a filter under AND over the coffee grounds to keep them from splattering everywhere! Don't like cleaning carafes so we're going to make do with this one.
