This is a great chair. I bought two of them and they are exactly as described in the details. Very strong and sturdy. The shipping cost was extremely reasonable for such big, heavy items.
I wish there was a bit more padding on the front corners where it can dig into your legs, but the seat is wide enough to adjust and sit to where it doesn't happen.
I bought this chair after my first purchase of another chair to be embroidered with my son's name, but the first chair wasn't wide enough. So then I bought this second chair for my son, and even though it couldn't be embroidered, it came matched to the first! Truly appreciated; and looks great! He loves it!
We bought this chair after having a visitor who was too large for our furniture break what was our strongest chair. There's nothing worse for both the host and the person visiting than the feeling of watching that happen. Not a good experience for either party. Recognizing the chair is meant for churches and waiting rooms, I have to say it's a pretty great purchase for a home as well. It can be used as a no frills computer chair when no one is visiting (and thus not sticking out visually). If you do use it as a computer chair, however, be aware it's pretty harsh seatwise for anyone with tailbone issues (and often people who are overweight have those as well). I myself am mildly overweight and the cushion isn't enough for me for long timeframes. Still, as that is the only complaint and this chair holds such a large size, I do recommend it. If you use it in the house, you can always purchase an extra cushion. It's very sturdy. It's also wide enough to hold anyone, as there are no arm rests.
i am a teacher in a high school. A student of mine weighs 500 pounds. He was afraid to sit on a classroom chair for fear of it breaking under his weight. With this heavy duty seat and an open worktable, this 'giant' feels like just one of the crowd. That is what I call differentiation of instruction!
