Works great wish it integrated into connect+

I am a garmin fanboy with many many premium garmin devices that all integrate into garmin connect. I’m also a connect+ member, and still this very shot monitor does not show up in garmin connect. Big miss!

IPad Connectivity Issues

The launch monitor is pretty decent. I wanted to be able to control the r50 using my iPad but can't get the two to connect together. Called tech and was told that it is not possible to control the Garmin r50 using my iPad instead of the Garmin screen. Also when I try to connect the two I get a "connect launch monitor" message even though my iPad is connected to the r50 wifi network........

Loving the R50

I've had the R50 for about a month and it's been a great purchase. I can swing clubs between meetings, over lunch or relaxing at night. The real-time swing feedback is incredible. The club speed, ball speed, and L/R spin have been the most helpful as I've gotten started but once the basic issues are worked out I expect the more obscure readings will begin to help.

Well… after doing extensive research, I finally decided on the R50… I am 100% sure that I got a dud!!
The screen is glitching, it disconnects from the HDM projector, and for some reason the R50 display freezes on blank grey screen. Forces me to shut it down and re-start. A couple of times it doesn’t even register when I tap in my pass code when I do restart the device, which forces me to shut down again.
A bit frustrating. Hopefully there is a software solution or patch which I am not aware of…. Will try getting tech support to assist. Unfortunately it is long weekend here, so probably gonna get help on Tuesday… Could rather have gone Ski’ing in the snow resort in Lesotho, than getting my hopes up for a fun filled weekend with my R50
But hey, probably a good test to find out if I will be able to count on Garmin after sales technical services…
Played not even 5 strokes and decided that my sanity is worth way more… got videos of my frustration. But I can only post photos on this reveiw… So there is that…

Solid and amazing easy to use

I’ve had it for a few weeks as I’ve been working through redeveloping my swing. The numbers feel right on and this is the most amazing for me the response time is immediate. I also have the SkyTrak plus which has a much much slower response time and is very had to configure if you need to change the source. My SkyTrak also became annoying as it would periodically reboot and also needed a pc to work. I’m using the approach with a projector and the combination of the built in screen and the projector is everything I could ever want.

Bought this about a month ago and I’ve been using this almost everyday. The convenience of this device is out of this world. Plug in play at its finest. I’m already in the Garmin ecosystem so it was so easy to start using with my account. The accuracy is up to par for real world play (judging this myself as a 25+ year experienced golfer with 8 handicap). The display is beautiful and responsive (better than I thought). I use wireless hdmi to connect to a screen (any screen or projector). Many courses (40k+), plenty of practice options, especially short irons. I love this thing.

Really Really Really

Without the Correction ability for offset Screens, this really is only good if you have the room—I had to redesign my area to accommodate any Game Play. Other than that, it has been a lot of fun.
