Incredibly pleased with the ease of setup, range of data and the course subscription. This unit has everything all on a plug and play machine with an LCD screen that doesn’t sacrifice anything for its user friendly setup. The carry bag is a great touch and completely first class. Truly astonishing.

Course graphics and play

I previously owned the Garmin r10 and recently just upgraded to the Garmin r50. Huge difference in the graphics. With 42,000 courses to play it’s a no brainer. The graphics are a big upgrade from the Garmin r10. The accuracy on the r50 is a lot more accurate compared to the r10 a well. What I really like most about it is that I don’t need to buy a gaming computer, everything is built into the r50. it’s just plug and play.

I ordered this with very high expectations

1). The Harmon built in interface is awesome. In my opinion this makes the price extremely reasonable, since I don’t need a separate p.c.

The first few times I used the r50,
I thought it was broken. Every shot went short and left.
I realized several things:
A. The r50 alignment was a tad off
B. My swing (path and face) were off
C. I was hitting each shot a touch fat

The r50 is brutally honest when it comes to ball striking, and it’s just what I needed!!!!
Overall this thing is awesome, and I don’t get fleeced by filghtscope, and E6 connect any longer!!!

An Upgrade Over the Original SkyTrak

I purchased the Approach R50 as I wanted to upgrade from the SkyTrak I’d had for about 8 years. After about a month of use, I can safely say the Approach R50 suits my needs to a tee. Versus the SkyTrak, I hardly ever get a misread (even when putting) and the yardages and data seem more accurate and consistent. The available club and ball data are extensive. Response time is immediate.
Home Tee Hero is an excellent simulator for me as I love playing courses I’m familiar with. My only minor critique to Home Tee Hero is the lack of accuracy in the course surroundings. For example, cacti are in play on a number of Coachella Valley courses while in fact there are no cacti there, and at my home course, trees are depicted where homes/OB areas exist. I’m also hopeful courses are added. Maybe 20% to 30% of the courses I regularly play are not available. But these are nitpicks. I am thoroughly enjoying the Approach R50.
