Great device for golf at home.

Perfect device without needing a projector. All that is needed is space and a hitting net. Feedback is instantaneous. I’m up and running in a two minutes. The club stickers are small enough that it doesn’t affect my swing or impact.
The monitor is everything it says it is. Great impact feedback, ball flight data, and very nice touchscreen that works with glove.
Two things I would recommend for upgrade… putting green data on course and CT10 sensor connection. I have the Garmin Golf membership that includes green elevation data however, while playing home town hero, no green elevation data is viewed on course. Also, there’s no connection to CT10 sensors, not a big deal, but Garmin is known for its connection within devices, just a thought.

Garmin R50

I've had the R50 for about 6 weeks. It is an incredible piece of technology. Unreal accuracy and more than enough data to satisfy any golfer. I've done 2 side by side comparisons versus Trackman and the data is spot on. Carry/total distance within 1-3 yards, spin within 200rpm and launch/decent angle identical. The level of accuracy against the Trackman is unreal, I was using ProV1 RCT balls to ensure Trackman was measuring spin and such accurately and the Garmin R50 was matching it shot for shot. The HTH game play is great, I'd like to see an upgrade to the graphics.

Step up from my Garmin R10
on January 26, 2026

I've been using a radar-based unit, Garmin R10, for the past summer. It works fine outside, but in late fall I attempted to use it inside my garage. I discovered tons of interference when I tried to use it inside my garage. After hours of trial and error, I just wasn’t able to use the R10 inside. Unfortunately, the main reason I bought a launch monitor was to use it inside during the winter months (I live in NE USE).
After much research I deiced to invest in an optical launch monitor. I determined that the Garmin R50 would fit my requirements nicely.
There are two main reasons I went with the Garmin R50. I needed something that would be quick and easy to setup and take down. In addition, I wanted to retain the HOME TEE HERO feature.
As previously stated, I mainly want to use my launch monitor inside my garage. Living in the NE part of the US, parking your vehicles outside during the winter is not a great option. So, I needed a monitor that would set-up and pack away in an easy and timely manner. The fact that the Garmin R-50 is a self-contained (monitor/screen) unit fits my needs.
Secondly, coming from the Garmin R10, I was very familiar with the HOME TEE HERO application. I love that feature from Garmin, as I continuously practice/play on my local golf courses.
Beyond the easy and features, I can honestly say the Gamin R50 appears to be very accurate. I make the same mistakes on my local courses in HOME TEE HERO as I do on the real course. When that happens, I say to myself, “yep that is about right”. All joking aside, the measurements appear very accurate to my real like numbers.
Even though I spent more money than I wanted to, I can honestly say I’m very happy with my purchase. I believe other buyers would feel the same.

I have had the R50 for a month now . It has been great there are a few features that I am not crazy about . Mulligan feature does not allow you to go back if you miss the short window . It is difficult at times to connect with the GSPro software

Another update and the putting is now worse. Can't figure out how to fix it. Good less than half the time. Frustrating

Perfect for my use

I have a golf setup in my backyard and having an all in one launch monitor/simulator is the perfect setup. No need to haul separate launch monitor and setup a tripod stand for a display. This makes everything so convenient and quick to setup. Plus it has all the ball and club metrics I was looking for. I find the accuracy to also be very precise comparing distances to a range finder. I'm very happy with this R50.

Great product

It is so easy to use unlike the Skytrak with which i previously struggled to connect with my iPad. There is virtually no delay in finishing swing and getting data. I have so far used it solely for practice mode in the driving range. Missed data capture exceedingly rare. Video screen is bright and more than adequate. Could not be more pleased
