nice mini waffle maker

I think it's pretty cool.. yes it does get hot.I find it takes 4 to 5 minutes for doneness, twice as long as it on a regular sized waffle maker. Yes, you do need to Pam spray both surfaces before adding your item to be cooked... so easy to forget that step. However, I recently had an egg/potato/cheese mixture that as it was cooking a lot of liquid came out and ran down inside the bottom unit. No info that this is a bad thing.. no flying sparks but, I'm sure I have a icky mess under the bottom element.

Defective with first use

Brand new out of the box this morning. Cleaned it with damp soapy cloth, rinsed, and dried. Noticed a small black spot on waffles. Thought maybe it had a hot spot that was burning the waffles. After letting the maker cool down and inspecting, I could see that there is one spot on the waffle maker that looks melted and is chipped. So the non stock coating was melting into my waffles.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
