Easy to use and easy to clean. My 8 and 10 year old were able to use this completely independently.

Defective with first use

Brand new out of the box this morning. Cleaned it with damp soapy cloth, rinsed, and dried. Noticed a small black spot on waffles. Thought maybe it had a hot spot that was burning the waffles. After letting the maker cool down and inspecting, I could see that there is one spot on the waffle maker that looks melted and is chipped. So the non stock coating was melting into my waffles.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Only used once so far but worked great. Heated up quick. Non-stick does great even if you forget to give it a quick shot of cooking spray. Great size for that little extra something sweet at breakfast. Would be a good size for desserts.
