My waffle maker came and the top plate will not stay in the waffle maker. I am so bummed I haven’t even been able to use it once.

Wanted to love but stopped working

The waffle maker was great until after using it a handful of times it stopped working. It does not light up anymore and does not heat up. There is no way to troubleshoot it, it just gave up which is disappointing.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
