Solid Smart Lock, but Battery Life Could Be Better

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always been a fan of Schlage deadbolt locks and have tried several of their smart lock models before purchasing the Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt with Camelot Trim in Satin Nickel.
Installation was just as simple as with the previous smart locks I’ve owned. The only additional step was connecting the Encode to my Wi-Fi network.
The main reason I can’t give the Encode the same 5-star rating as its predecessors is the battery setup. It requires four AA batteries instead of a single battery, and they seem to drain fairly quickly. In fact, I once got locked out because the batteries died and I didn’t have my backup key with me. Let’s just say I learned my lesson. I now keep my key with me at all times.
Another drawback is that the lock occasionally disconnects from Wi-Fi, and managing user access codes can sometimes be frustrating. On one occasion, I had to remove the lock from the app and set it up again just to delete a user's access code.
Despite these inconveniences, I’m still a Schlage fan. They make quality products, and overall, this is still a solid smart lock that I would recommend.

I LOVE this lock!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've only had it for a week but, so far, it has been perfect. Installation is extremely simple. Connected to wifi flawlessly. Setting up codes using the app is very easy. The android interface is user friendly. It looks great too!
