Good for 4yrs, then locked out of our house

Was good while it worked! We have had our Schlage Encode smart deadbolt for 4 years. This thing is beautiful and the metal parts are amazing. Paid premium for this lock expecting it to last at least 10 years. Nope. I bragged to all the friends about this, and now I am eating those words. 4 years is all we got out of it. The WiFi started to fail about 2 months ago. 2 weeks later and now the entire keypad has gone unresponsive. Since we are outside the 3 year warranty, there is nothing Schlage can do. We will not recommend this brand anymore. We have another competitor brand keypad lock on our kitchen/backdoor that we bought at the same time. That door gets used atleast 20x a day. This is significantly more than our front door that houses the Schlage Encode deadbolt, The Schlage lock only gets used once every week. Being that this Schlage lock is used the least and was the more expensive of the locks we bought at the time, it should have lasted longer than 4 yrs. When it worked, it was nice, but for the price it failed far too quickly. And the fact that the company is not backing its failure, I’m sad to say that we will not buy from this brand again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Encore lock set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s so convenient not having to carry a key around, and by linking it with the home security system and Alexa, I feel even safer and more comfortable. Plus, it can be controlled remotely through the app.
