[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this deadbolt. You can unlock it from your phone from the app, with a key or code. It so easy to add and remove people from the app. It's the best money I've spent. I highly recommend anyone who's tired of getting out their keys to get this lock.

I love my Encode locks

They are so easy to use for both my family and visiting guests and vendors. I never worry about access. I can provide user codes through the Schl6app, and schedule them for the days/times of guest bookings. Encode has definitely made my life easier! I won't consider another brand.

After six months of using the Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt on my front door, I can confidently say it's one of the best smart home upgrades I've ever made. It successfully replaces the need for keys while providing robust security and seamless integration. However, it's not without a couple of minor quirks.

The Good: What I Love
1. Flawless WiFi Connectivity: This is the Encode's killer feature. Unlike many smart locks that require a separate hub or bridge (like Zigbee or Z-Wave), the Encode connects directly to your home's 2.4 GHz WiFi network. The setup was incredibly simple through the Schlage Home app, and it has maintained a rock-solid connection ever since. No extra dongles, no complicated pairing—just pure convenience.
2. Effortless Keyless Entry & User Codes: Creating, managing, and deleting access codes is a breeze. I have unique codes for family members, a trusted neighbor, and a cleaning service. I can set schedules for each code (e.g., the dog walker only has access from 12-2 PM on weekdays), which provides fantastic control and peace of mind. The ability to grant temporary access without needing a physical key is a game-changer.
3. Robust Build Quality and Design: The lock feels substantial and well-made. I chose the Century style in Matte Black, and it looks sleek and modern. The motor is quiet but authoritative when locking and unlocking. It just feels secure, which is paramount for a front door lock. The weather resistance has held up perfectly through rain and snow.
4. Excellent Integration with Alexa & Google Assistant: "Alexa, lock the front door." It works perfectly every time. I've also set up Routines to automatically lock the door at 11 PM every night, just in case we forget. Being able to check the lock status from anywhere via voice or the app is incredibly reassuring.
5. Easy Installation: If you are even slightly handy, you can install this yourself in under 30 minutes. It's a direct replacement for most standard deadbolts. The Schlage Home app provides a clear, step-by-step guide that makes the process foolproof.
