The Gain Whip antenna works great with my 15 watt Midland GMRS in the vehicle. I like that it's portable and easy to set on the vehicle when needed. The magnetic mount that I ordered separately is strong. The wider range of transmission is super.

I installed this antenna as a dedicated GMRS whip to replace a dual band mag mount I'd used before. I immediately noticed greater simplex range and way better interaction with our local repeater. The reception clarity and range from the repeater has improved a lot. Because of the spring base on this antenna, it suits usage on my Jeep much better.
