Misleading images
on May 6, 2025
Posted by: Orion137
I bought this surge protector specifically because the images show the older type of straight plug, NOT these newer flat style plugs that hog the whole outlet. I have a portable a/c plugged into the outlet I planned to use this on, and the plug is so huge these new "flat" plugs just will not fit.

Wrong Clamping Voltage Listed
on February 15, 2019
Posted by: johner
from Albuquerque, NM
Belkin listed the clamping voltage wrong on this surge protector. The website claims it is 330V but it is actually 400V (as noted on the box and the surge protector itself). This difference could be enough for your TV to fry in an electrical surge. It's really unfortunate that Belkin provides misleading information about this product - it seemed like a decent surge protector.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Johner,

We understand where you're coming from. With regard to this matter, clamping voltage is the highest voltage that will develop across an MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor or surge protection device) based on an energy level. For example, an MOV may take one joule forever, and produce a clamping voltage of 130V, but you may apply up to 240 joules for 10 microseconds with the original UL test and get a clamping voltage of about 330V less. The new UL test standard provides more energy per time than the old test, so the clamping voltage goes up to about 400V or higher. The MOV is still the same MOV. Moreover, it is the UL certification test that has changed, not the MOV.

Failed when needed

Had my computer plugged in to this surge protector. There was an electrical surge due to lightening and the computer was damaged. Other electrical items that were not plugged into the surge protector were not damaged.

Failed to meet expectations
on January 17, 2017

I bought this surge protector about three years ago. Let's be honest, you plug them in and forget about it. However after yesterday's storms I was reminded of it when my tv, Blu-Ray and Receiver all got fried. I have several others and I'm considering replacing them all. Just didn't live up to the test when needed.

Incorrect clamping voltage listed
on January 17, 2019
Posted by: H2019
The clamping voltage listed in the specifications section is 330V. However, the clamping voltage listed on the BE107200-06 surge protector box is 400V. I hope Belkin will update the product information to reflect the correct specifications.

Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Belkin International 7 outlet surge protector in my office for my work from home setup and it works like a charm. It fits easily under my desk tucked out of the way and allows me to organize my plugs so they are not going all over my office space.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this surge protector! You can clearly see when it’s turned on. The extra outlets help me plug in all the stuff for my desk when I’m working from home. I love Belkin surge protectors & I think they’re really trustworthy and built sturdy!
I would recommend this to a friend!

So far, so good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice slim angled plug with good cord length. The ground indicator is a nice feature I haven't seen on similar surge protectors. Thankfully, I haven't had to find out how well it protects against surges yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!
