Wonderful Vacuum

Battery life is good. Wonderful job cleaning and I do wish the green light was on all the vacuum heads it is a small feature but nice to see smaller dust particles. Not heavy. But it is super important to use the proper tool for the job (i.e. soft head for hard floors) to ensure the best cleaning and to not damage the vacuum. I will say this is perfect for hard surfaces and basic carpets. If you need extreme cleaning I would go with the Animal 3 or try the new V16 (its supposed to be even stronger than the animal 3).

Love the green laser light that shows a path ahead of the vacuum. It lets you see the dirt. Quite surprising. I have only had the vacuum a week but I love it. This is my second Dyson. The first one lasted for 12 years with no issues until the end.

WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG

ok I was skeptical... i'm a vacuum FREAK! not my first cordless, not my first up-right, i've owned high-end electrolux (yes i'm that old) - Kenmore, Hoover, Dirt Devil., cannisters, central vacs... so my question... is it REALLY worth that much?? My concerns were weight/comfort and, mostly, will it vacuum along the edges without having to switch attachments, bend over, or take extra time? Well.... my mind is blown! and i haven't even used the floor attachment yet. This Dyson sucked tons of debris from under my kitchen cabinet kick plates AND baseboards that i didn't know was even there. No switching attachments, just facing the plates with the vacuum head and you can see and hear all the grime! I've had it 6 days and used it til 'death' 3 times already. I filled the bucket over the MAX line my first time using it on ONE 5x7 area rug!
The ease of use and versatility makes it soooo quick and productive, no tripping over cords, no changing attachments for stairs, attachments readily handy to go from floor to dusting edges to maneuvering all around legs, in tight and minimum space (like under the bed!) - and the power! you don't need to go twice!
Noise: quiet, for a vacuum. Again, all i've used so far is the carpet-motor attachment, which is going to be louder than the floor attachment. You can 'hear' the motor switching gears/strength when you move from types of flooring to another (heavily bristled-mat to the hardwood to the carpet.... - you can feel the switch in power, as it detects the surface. Just. freaking. amazing.)
I think i'm marrying this tying.... my ONE complaint is the weight of the hand held unit: i dusted the windows and tops of baseboard heaters and, compared to pulling a hose around, it can get heavy. I will be rigging a belt-handle to alleviate this problem. (hold / trigger one hand, hold belt other hand, kinda like a whipper snipper.) Maybe Dyson should come up with something like that. When i vacuum, i vacuum EVERYTHING! As such, I was concerned about the battery life. But unless you are on turbo mode, the efficiency of this unit carries it through the job (so far).
My house is 2000 sqf, routinely clean about 1,200 sq feet, with a mixture of tile/hard wood, 4 area rugs, 2 dogs, 2 sets of stairs. now i wanna go home and vacuum.....
I have researched and read a lot of reviews prior to choosing the V15 detect. And cannot be happier. I am highly recommending this model.
Hope it lives for 10 more years! I love it!

Very good, very happy

Best vacuum I ever used Vacuum head does not get dusty and full of hair and dust. My very old central vacuum (probably from the 1997??) has me pulling hair and debris out of the vacuum head every few seconds. The tech is truly modern. Very powerful and effective. Light to carry easy to empty. Easy to reach small spaces. Easy to clean stairs.

The 5 stars is for suction!

The suction is so good that it takes effort to push it along carpet so it may not be good for some, but I don't mind. The light on the hard floor attachment showed me way more that I wanted LOL, including very small paint splatters that I hadn't seen before. Vacuuming with this Dyson is very satisfying!

Disappointing trigger on/off

Well, I can appreciate the theory is to conserve battery life, maintaining the own position with a trigger switch can be challenging when combined with the added weight of this model.
