Perfect scope for PRS

This scope is packed with features. The 1/4 mil's simplify the sight picture. The field of view is phenomenal. The best feature is the removable scope cap though. This gives you the ability to mark your dope for quick dialing and transitioning between targets. I have shot athlon, leupold, and many others and have liked this one the best for competitions.

The turrets are easy to see, the turrets are tactile, the glass is very clear, and the eye relief is pretty good. The price to performance is very good with this scope.

Awesome scope.

Great scope with excellent glass. This is my first high power FFP scope (over 20x power), and I had to approach setup a little differently than others I own. There was a small learning curve... 1) Reticle focus is a critical, and takes a bit of time to dial in properly. If you expect to just mount the scope and start shooting (without following instructions for diopter setup) you may be frustrated by image quality issues. 2) Max power at 100 yds can makes things appear out of focus if you look into the scope too long. It's just too much power for that distance... scale back and things clear up... move to a more distant target.. same thing. Properly setup, one of the best scopes I've owned. Xtr pro is next.

Great scope

Perfect, exactly what I was looking for, hits way above the price point. One of the most important things is I did not want another scope made in the Philippines or China. This is an all American made scope with LOW glass. So far everything about it is excellent.

Best Scope for the Money, Period

There's certain things where I am very brand loyal, and others where I am trying to find the best product for my needs and am willing to experiment. I'm so glad I did! The Burris XTR III lineup punches way above its weight class. It has edge-to-edge lens clarity, a 34mm tube, an illuminated reticle that you can toggle between red or green, a zero-stop that I'd put at the second easiest to use of scopes I've tried (The Tract Toric does edge it out a little on this front). For me, the reticle was one of my biggest persuasions. I'm actually using the SCR I version (not the 2), and I love it. I know most companies have gone to the tiny dot in the middle, but the SCR have a thin cross instead. I prefer this for bench shooting, because after a few rounds the dot-reticle will disappear in a tight group and its impossible to see. The cross design is much easier. Now, if you're only taking one shot, or shooting steel, that wouldn't be an issue, but for anyone grouping, I think it's superior.
I will say that the chromatic aberration and optical clarity at the highest magnification does tend to fall off a bit, but with 30x of magnification, dropping down into the 26x range is still plenty for the vast majority of people out there.
If you were on the fence about buying a Burris--don't be. Every chance I get, I recommend this scope. It's usually met by a wrinkled nose and a "really? A Burris?" Whatever you think you know about this company is significantly evolved. And the XTR III is generations ahead of the XTR II. When you see a Burris XTR III mounted on PRS rifles in various company advertisements, know that's no accident. They really are that good. So good in fact, that I've swapped over two of my existing rifles, and my future builds will also have XTR's on them.
