[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Generally, I liked the ThinkPad P14s Gen 5. It was quick and easy to use. I really like the old-style TrackPoint button control! But, for my use, I need to have better battery life. In all of my testing, I was only able to get up to about 4 hours. I expect that was due to the discrete video.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for a ThinkPad P14s Gen 5. Mine has an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H. Discrete graphics hardware wasn't available with this CPU. That's OK with me -- I'm not a gamer.
My ThinkPad is connected to the recommended Lenovo ThinkPad Universal Thunderbolt 4 Dock. One small quibble: The P14s doesn't have a "Thin Tip" power connector, so it must use its Thunderbolt 4 connector for both power and data. This limits the power to about 92 Watts, significantly lower than the capacities of ThinkPad's and dock's power supplies. The dock has a separate power output that can't be used with the P14s, although It does work with the P16 ThinkPads. So far I haven't had a problem keeping the P14's battery charged, so it's probably no big deal.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros:
Excellent performance.
The 3K display is stunning!
The keyboard offers a very comfortable typing experience.
Cons:
The keyboard and laptop surface are prone to smudges and fingerprints, making them look oily. Requires frequent cleaning to maintain a neat appearance.
There is ample space on the right side of the laptop—why not include a card reader as an option? This would make exchanging data with a camera much more convenient.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far this laptop seems like the perfect buy. The display is absolutely stunning, and the specs are all amazing. The only downsides are that the battery isn’t great, but that is solved easily by using the charger when doing more intensive tasks, and that it only comes with the RTX 500 ADA, instead of the 1000 or 2000. Well constructed, great looking, and powerful enough for my needs as an engineering student. Got it in a big sale, so make sure not to buy at full price cause it just isn’t worth 3K
I purchased this laptop because I was drawn to the powerful specs and the promise of a solid workstation. However, in the two weeks I’ve owned it, I’ve already had to reboot twice due to strange “not responding” errors.
I was especially excited about the NVIDIA graphics card, expecting sharp, vivid visuals, but instead, I’ve encountered scrambled, glitchy images. Honestly, it reminded me of when I used to try to watch Showtime cable on Saturday night back in the '80s —if you know, you know.
While the hardware shows promise, these issues are hard to overlook, and I’m left feeling a bit underwhelmed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
