Works perfectly for 2011 mac with broken graphics

Without any fuss this has enabled an old 2011 macbook to drive external displays! The macbook has a broken AMD discreet graphics card - so it was impossible to use the thunderbolt port to drive external displays. Connecting this adapter to one of the macbook's USB2 port, while running off of the macbook's internal Intel gpu, was the only other option. Even when connected to a USB2 port, and not USB3, this device works perfectly! The macbook automatically installed the display driver when this was plugged in, and a full HD external display sensed the signal via HDMI. The same is true running Windows 10 in bootcamp on the same machine. There is only a small amount of lag/latency on macOS/Windows - noticeable when dragging windows around - but it is perfect for standard office work, and the latency may well be reduced if you use a device with higher bandwidth USB3 ports. Despite the expense, this is a brilliant adapter for anyone with USBA ports on a device that cannot otherwise drive an external display. Even after a full day of use it never overheats or glitches out.
