Upgraded from the original Hue bridge. Hue bridge pro was on sale 30% off. Main reason for the upgrade was to enhance the Philips Hue Sync box - and it works great for the Philips Sync box as it performs on average 5X faster than the orignal Hue bridge. You can keep you current set up when upgrading to the new bridge but be careful and follow the set up steps in the Hue app carefully. Both bridges need to be plugged in and connected to the internet in order to keep your current set up when upgrading.

Hue Bridge Pro - Motion Aware works okay

I was 1 bulb away from the 50 max with the Bridge V2 (though I think you might be able to squeak out more) and was contemplating indoor motion sensors. When I realized that Hue Bridge Pro had motion aware, I thought that was the sign to pull the trigger. Upon installation I noticed 5 or 6 bulbs didn't migrate across...but it was a simple thing to manually add them into the new ecosystem. The Motion Aware feature has worked well overall, but I had to play with the settings a lot to get the system doing what I wanted. Much of the learning curve involved setting up the zones so there was enough lead-time to turn on lights...and then getting the lights to do what I wanted upon detection. But over-all, a satisfying experience...just leave some 'learning time'. Otherwise, the bridge has been working well.

Extremely difficult to set up. 2 days to connect

The instructions don't say that it could take up to two days for it to connect . It just sits there in limbo . Meanwhile I tried everything and anything I could think of including YouTube videos and Google . Finally when I was just about at the end of my rope it just magically connected.
Fortunately one person on line had said that it took there is about 24 hours to connect so that's the only reason why I kept trying

Works perfectly and exactly what I needed

Although I have two of these, I also have two Hue syncs, which is why I needed them!
You can definitely tell the Hue Bridge Pro Smart Hub is faster. I had to change the Zigbee channel to stop some conflicting flickering, but it works perfectly now.

Also, using the lights as motion detectors to automatically turn them on is amazing. Now I can have every room turn on and off at night just by walking through it.
Amazing product!
