Amazing speaker! Great features! 🎶

Some of the highlights are as follows..The JBL charge 2 has Bold JBL Sound, 20 hours of playtime, a IPX7 waterproof design, Wireless Bluetooth Streaming and a built-in powerbank.
The JBL Charge Essential 2 features a racetrack-shaped driver, a separate tweeter and two pumping JBL passive radiators for deeper bass. The optimized transducer delivers bigger loudness. The JBL Charge Essential 2 provides powerful sound wherever you are.
Some of the cons..I was disappointed to learn that this speaker does not have an app you can use with it like other JBL products. And it sounds like there is o lot sound coming out of the left side of the speaker. Not sure why it is this way.
At the end of the day I think this is a super speaker that’s waterproof and can also offers a power bank.

A great speaker built to last!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great larger speaker measuring about 8 3/4" wide. It has that heavy duty feel to it so I'm sure it will last a long time. As expected the sound quality is excellent and my Daughter is already trying to take it after hearing it! An unexpected feature is that it has a USB out plug do you can charge your phone and other devices! It runs off the standard USB-C cable and one is included. Overall a great sounding speaker built to last.

Perfect on the go speaker with a little extra!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just checked out the new JBL Charge Essential 2 speaker and it’s now my go to for music. Right out of the box this speaker is easy setup and use. The sound is great and clear, even the speech is clear and easy to hear on a podcast. Let’s start with the packaging. As usual the packaging is what I have become to expect from Harmon/JBL.
Box was very clean and had good graphics and very easy to open. All was packaged well and protected. Box had speaker charging cable usb-usb c and a quick setup guide. Speaker was so easy to setup just go to Bluetooth settings on phone and connect and in less then 30 seconds I was listing to my favorite music. A bonus to this speaker is that you can also charge your phone when on the go. I see myself using this for the beach, picnics or just outside doing some yard work. Speaker is built for on the go seems rugged and it’s waterproof. Great for beach, pool, boat, camping, gym, garage or anywhere you can think to take it. Not too big and not too heavy easily one hand carry. Sound is great, I'm definitely going to use this everywhere I go. Definitely recommend I can’t think of any cons all pros.

Good (Not Outstanding) Audio Quality, No Frills

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Charge Essential 2 was super easy to pair with my iPhone and get started. As will all JBL gear, I found the sound quality to be clear, well-balanced and natural out of the box. I expected a little more beef on the low end for the speaker size, but it's still pretty good. As expected, the speaker volume is a notch louder and more present than the smaller JBL speaker models, like the Flip. But I was disappointed to find that turning the volume up past about half way on my iPhone quickly degraded the sound quality. The up-tempo Rock I was playing sounded increasingly unbalanced and shrill in the mids at the louder volume. Below the halfway volume point the sound quality is very good, but that's a lot of unusable volume range. For ambient music or background music while you work, that is acceptable. But if you want to crank the volume to fill the room with party music, this speaker will likely disappoint.
As for features, this "essential" version of the Charge really is no frills, with no ability to link with other speakers for stereo playback or PartyBoost, no call answering, and no app integration to customize EQ. By design, it's just a Bluetooth speaker with an output charging port. However, The lack of app integration to customize the EQ is really missed as I consider that feature essential to tailor the right sound from any speaker and to match the music style and audio tastes of the listener. In the case of the Charge Essential 2, it might be even more critical to help achieve an EQ profile that would allow for louder volumes with a more balanced sound.
With such limited features, this speaker's remaining value proposition needs to be killer sound quality, especially at the price point. But on this mark it just falls short. I honestly think I'd rather have the Flip 6 for almost half the price and have the EQ feature since the sound quality of the Charge Essential 2 over the Flip 6 at lower volumes is just not that different. If the charging output feature or higher volume are must-have features for you, I'd recommend skipping the Charge Essential 2 and springing for the full-featured Charge 5 to get EQ capability.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Our JBL Charge essential speaker is a Bluetooth basic speaker and it doesn't come with portable app capabilities. We recommend our JBL Charge 5 that comes with an optimized driver, a separate tweeter and a dual bass radiator for that impressively clear and rich audio, comes with portable app capabilities.

Charge keeps it's charge...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have not put this wonderful sounding JBL Charge speaker away sin e it arrived. I'll start with the charge on the Charge. Turned it on at 3:30 PM and it's 12:06 AM and it still has the 5 charge indicator lights.
Sound: You can actually hear the voices clearly in every song. The base is strong and clear, in other words, no vibration. Excellent JBL. You will be as satisfied, if not, better than me. I will recommend this speaker to my family and of course, my friends.

Powerful & Reliable Lil Beast of a Speaker!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This JBL Charge Essential 2 bluetooth speaker is a little beast that delivers some powerful sound quality & booming bass! Zero complaints on what it does & what I need it to do - fill up a room with music & keep the energy going. With a built-in 7500mah rechargeable battery that powers the unit up to 20 hours of music &/or mixed use of music & charging capability for other devices via the USB-A jack in the rear, this is handy to take outdoors & not worry about the battery running out nor your other devices. Really love this size & need to find some kind of protective carrying case for it. I currently own a few different JBL bluetooth devices such as bluetooth earbuds, battery charger, & a few smaller-sized bluetooth speakers - all great quality & reassures me they'll deliver when I need them most!

Great Little Speaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received my speaker it looked similar to the other JBL speaker I have. I will tell you that it is not. The sound is amazing. You can hear this speaker from more than 5 houses away. We have used this speaker while doing yard work. We also take it on the golf cart when we are driving. The battery lasts for days, and it took about 4 hours to charge. This is a good speaker for the beach as it is waterproof. It can also be used for family picnics because the sound is loud enough for all to hear. We have also used it for small drive way get togethers. It is a little heavy so its not good for walking or hiking. When I go walking I use my JBL ear buds and my phone.

Another home run from JBL

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Another excellent portable speaker from JBL. I have several JBL portable Wi-Fi speakers. They come in different sizes. I would say this is one of the larger ones. I took a picture next to a set of headphones and a quarter for size comparison. Like all JBL speakers the sound is excellent. The base is deep and the highs are very clear. It maintains good clarity even at high volumes and it usually fills a large room. Would have no problem bringing this out for a party in my house. The beauty of the speaker is that it's not too big to take along with you on vacation or to the beach. Hooks up to your phone via Bluetooth almost instantly it doesn't lose the connection. You can't go wrong with this speaker. Highly recommend.
