Works really well. I use it weight lifting and intense cardio (high incline treadmill, high incline resistance elliptical). It gives an accurate and much more stable picture of my heart rate zones (try to stay zone 3 to 4). I had an older version and I enjoy that this can be detached and washed. The rechargeable feature is amazing. It was annoying at first to setup but after taking it off the encrypted mode (I don't know why that even exists) it paired with my instinct 2.
I enjoy tracking all of my workouts and I like Garmins workout metrics a lot. I highly recommend anyone that trains in a hybrid manner (serious weight lifting and serious cardio) to invest in a chest monitor. I can also take my watch off for heavy shrugs and rows (using straps) which is an added bonus.
Have used it on all my runs for a month now, (150+ miles) and it’s easy to use and clean. Nothing like accurate heart readings for your data. Haven’t even had to charge it yet.
Great features, and a solid upgrade from the HRM P

I've been a happy user of the HRM Pro. I like the detachable HR unit and the charging capabilities but I'm still getting used to the differences of the HRM Pro. Take note, I'm a small guy with a 38" chest and the small size strap barely is long enough. Not quite inline with the description. If it were I'd go 5 stars. I'm still quite happy though.
Minus: -less comfortable dan HRM Pro (yellow) I fill something "hard" -I had a problem to connect on Fenix in ANT+ mode (I had to delete connection Blueetoth and add again) -It's ok in 95% of use, maybe software update get some battery extended for ultra racers (read and send 2-3 time less than normal Plus -don't care about battery, care about cable, small size, i don't care about how long I can clean in water. I can disconnect device
I bought this HRM-600 to replace my older HRM-Pro Plus that had developed an unpleasant deteriorating rubber smell. I like the fact that the 600 has a detachable pod which makes it convenient for regular cleaning of the strap. I only use the HRM for road biking, and I appreciated the fact that the prior Pro Plus used a coin battery (that I had to change once a year), so not as in favor of the new rechargeable model which is "yet another device battery to recharge". I suspect most of the other improved features are nice to have if you use them... but I do not and therefore hard to understand the steep price increase.
