Have used it on all my runs for a month now, (150+ miles) and it’s easy to use and clean. Nothing like accurate heart readings for your data. Haven’t even had to charge it yet.

A great product

Works really well. I use it weight lifting and intense cardio (high incline treadmill, high incline resistance elliptical). It gives an accurate and much more stable picture of my heart rate zones (try to stay zone 3 to 4). I had an older version and I enjoy that this can be detached and washed. The rechargeable feature is amazing. It was annoying at first to setup but after taking it off the encrypted mode (I don't know why that even exists) it paired with my instinct 2.
I enjoy tracking all of my workouts and I like Garmins workout metrics a lot. I highly recommend anyone that trains in a hybrid manner (serious weight lifting and serious cardio) to invest in a chest monitor. I can also take my watch off for heavy shrugs and rows (using straps) which is an added bonus.

A welcome addition to my workouts.

I bought the HRM-600 because it records intensity minutes, and because it can be used to record activities even if my phone or Fenix 7 watch are not present. I have used it many times since it arrived on my doorstep. It works great. And here's the "but". The list of activities it can record via preset activities in Garmin Connect is extensive, but does not include "Walk" or "Walking". Instead I have to use "Other". So. Overall it's much better than 4 stars, but not quite 5.

Steady HR readings, more responsive than watch
on May 25, 2026

I have been using the HRM600 for a few weeks. I purchased it because my heart rate readings from my Garmin Fenix 8 were inconsistent, and showing significant spikes during my runs. These spikes were impacting my fitness metrics, and also causing me to slow down some of my runs when I wasn't sure if I had something going on with my heart. While waiting for a doctor's appointment, I ordered this. Since I began wearing it, my heart rate readings have been very steady (and lower than my watch was reading, which has had a positive impact on my VO2 max and other fitness metrics). While I try not to rely on a watch to tell me how I feel, it was a bit frustrating to see my fitness level decreasing when I was sure it should be increasing. I like the additional metrics it gives, and in particular the step speed loss, which proved my suspicion that I was over-striding. It also responds much quicker to changes in intensity than my watch does, which is great when doing speed work. My only complaint is that it is a bit scratchy to my sensitive skin where the sensors meet the elastic band. I chafed on my sides the first time I wore it on a 7 mile run. I started using some anti-chafe roll-on under the sensors and I haven't had any issues since.

Exceptional Accuracy-Just Needs a Walking Feature
on May 26, 2026

I am absolutely thrilled with my new Garmin HR 600. It has truly transformed how I track my fitness routine. Here is what makes this device a standout for me: Incredible Freedom: I love being able to take my watch off during workouts while still capturing all my data. Superior Accuracy: The heart rate data feels significantly more precise than standard wrist-based tracking. Comfort and Convenience: It integrates seamlessly into my daily routine without getting in the way. The only feature I feel is missing is a dedicated walking or speedwalking activity profile. Right now, I have to log my walks under the "Cardio" category. While this captures basic metrics, it is not quite the same as seeing my walks organized under their proper category with data tailored specifically to walking. At 67 years old, I still love to run, but I am currently facing an upcoming hip replacement. Because of this, speedwalking has become a core part of my daily exercise routine. Having a dedicated walking feature would make this incredible device absolutely perfect. Even with that minor wish list item, I highly recommend the HR 600 to anyone looking for accurate, flexible fitness tracking!

Good to go heart tracker for nerd stats if you’re into that. Also I feel like you need to wet the sensor on the band with some water before you start your run for it to work quicker. Battery life is also good and I am glad that you’re able to charge this one. but overall good and will keep for as long as I am able to.
