I can't believe the picture

This was my first flat screen purchase. My husband and I finally decided to upgrade from our 32" dinosaur tube TV. We went with the intention of getting an LCD TV and were not at all interested in the 3D TVs, but when we got to the store and saw the amazing picture this TV had, we were blown away. It was much better than all of the other LCD and LED TVs in the store. The picture is so much more clear and crisp than any of the TVs in the store. We haven't been able to use the 3D yet because the glasses are on backorder, but I am sure that will be amazing too. The sound from the TV speakers isn't the greatest, but we purchased a home theater system at the same time, so it really doesn't matter. This TV is amazing and I couldn't be happier with it. I hope the durability is just as amazing as the TV has been so far.

I got this tv as a surprise for the kids. I was the one that was surprised. It is a great tv! I love watching all my shows on it. The kids love to play their games on it. BEST investment I have made in a while.

Not happy with quality

I was originally very excited about this TV. It had great picture, and there was nothing that I could find I didn't like about it. Unfortunately, after 1 year and 7 months, 7 months after my warranty expired, I got the first sign of trouble. A single pixel width red line down the screen. I kept the TV off while I tried to find some fixes online. A week later I got a green line, single pixel width again, down another part of the screen. I am expecting this will continue until it is absolutely unusable, and I expect it will happen soon.
Unfortunately, I was unable to find any helpful information that would fix this problem inexpensively. I did find that this is a very common occurrence with Samsung plasma screens. The fix is a new plasma panel, and that is unacceptable.
My family and friends tend to come to me for advice on electronics. Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to recommend Samsung products with good conscious.

Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
