Nice design, but room for improvement

Same as one of the other reviewers, my speakers didn't even last one season before dying. Hooked directly to the battery, when powering off the bike, once in a while it would "spike" the speakers and shut them down. I would have to remove the power to get them to reset. Happened more frequently and would power off the speakers first. Didn't matter, still would shut them down. After about 6 or 8 times of this happening, they died. Finally got them off the bike yesterday and going to have our tech look at them. Do you have a schematics or a repair manual to share?
Improvements: Add more cable between the speakers...it BARELY makes it between my stock mirror mounts and to route the cable properly along the handle bars.
They could stand to be a little bit louder. They're pretty good at 45-55 MPH, but above that, between wind, engine and my stock exhaust noise, they're almost pointless. Forget about it if riding next to a Harley!
Improve the mounting system. Between spinning them onto the mirror mounts and then trying to put the mirrors back on, again, my stock mirrors are very difficult to put on and have them be secure enough without modifying them.
Add an inline fuse to possibly help with the above problem of killing the speakers.
My bike is a 2008 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT.

Straight up garbage. Both the speakers and mounting hardware sucks. The threads on both are so malformed. Never in my career working in a thread roll shop have I seen such bad work. Take your money elsewhere!!!!!

We Need A Cruise 2.0
on December 31, 2019

Love jbl products but this one can use a 2.0 upgrade as i was screwing the bolt into the speaker it broke through the plastic caseing and was a pain to install where the mirrors go so an idea for the Cruise 2.0 stronger material, handle bar mounts not where the mirrors go, add skip forward and replay button on first speaker and or use the second speaker for buttons, and tweak the volume to be a little loud for while on highway use so please make a CRUISE 2.0 other products ive owned have had no issues i would definitely buy the 2.0

I love JBL products but these speakers are not worth your money. They look fantastic and sound is crisp and clear but can’t hear them over 55-60 mph range. Needs to have at least twice their current power they currently output.
