A bit difficult to get started

Can’t get it to turn on using the remote
Instruction says remove protective film from control panel
There is no protective film so is this a used device that has been returned?
I can turn the device on using the remote but the manual button doesn’t work

Waiting to see what kind of results I get after consistent use. But it is pretty comfortable and easy to use. I felt great after the first couple times using it. Had some pain in my shoulder that was juat Gone after the first day. I do notice the motor doesn't respond well to standing on the outside of the plate with one foot (as shown in the manuals suggested exercises like the one-leg squat and one-leg balance. It basically freezes the motor unless i make sure to position the one foot closer to the center than shown in the pictures. But other than that, no complaints so far.

Just got the plate and it is very easy to use. Love the remote control. And I enjoy the quick start guide the came with it with sample exercises.
