Miss my pixel 4a

Upgraded because Google was on about planned obsolescence for my pixel 4a. The screen sensitivity on this phone stinks- half the time it doesn't respond to my touch or the screen freezes and I have to hit the power button a few times to jostle it out of its state. This model doesn't have the fingerprint scanner on the back, and it's a downgrade. Again hardly works as it's on the screen which is useless. Also, no longer has headphone jack. Another downgrade. Instead of a bit of a protrusion for the fingerprint scanner, you have a line across the back where the camera is; which you'd think would make it useful to prop up on stuff but nope. The weight balance is weird and it falls over unless you have a stand or a ring to do that. Also a wider/longer phone which is too big for me to use one handed despite the settings for that. The camera and some of the AI features are nice but honestly would rather have my pixel 4a.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Decent camera and features, horrible keyboard

I like the pixel 8 larger size, camera is decent. Be careful if you take pro quality pictures with large file sizes, it can be an issue if you send by email. The keyboard and auto correct is a disaster! Wish I had my old Blackberry phone from 10 yrs ago, it was more intuitive! If you type important documents or numbers this is not the phone for you!

Mixed feelings

The reason I chose this phone was for the camera and I obviously had poor information. Very very disappointed with the camera and after purchase looking online I can see this is a common complaint with no fixes in sight. Photos are dark and lifeless every single photo needs to be adjusted yet you cannot just change this in settings ahead of time.
Super fun options with stickers generated for chats. The speaker on the phone is pretty great for media and works well with my wireless speaker and headphones. It's really difficult to unlock this phone and the extended unlock doesn't work well. Fingerprints isn't recognized about 70% of the time even after redoing. It's pretty lame that it doesn't come with the charging block or a cord that fits into anything. All my other products work together. This is a reason I avoid Apple products so I'm unimpressed.
Using multiple apps is sometimes unsuccessful. Maps is pretty annoying if you have to multitask. It's hard to move from app to app and they often shut down or freeze.
I would return this phone if it was possible but stupidly I thought it was an operator error that I needed to learn my way around. No solution for the camera so I'm not sure why I purchased this very expensive phone.
