[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok...I admit I like eye catching gadgets. And yes, that is probably true of mist people who buy a flip smart phone. But guess what, it does all the things I need it to do as well as be cool...all at the same time.
Does it make phone calls...yep
Send texts...yep
I like that my screen is protected when closed. The wireless charging comes in handy. The pictures are really good...I'm not a huge picture taker but the few I have are very crisp.
Oh, and I can surf the internet to avoid eye contact with strangers while waiting at the doctor's office...basically the only reason we all own phones.

Flip 4 comes unhinged

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As soon as I received the Flip 4, I put it into a full body cover including hinge, yet 1 month later the left side hinge popped out of it's socket so that the phone can only open up halfway. Nobody local has parts, so I have to mail it in for service.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Don't do it....

I've had this phone for 4 months and twice already the LED has malfunctioned/broken rendering the phone inoperable and requiring the phone to be replaced. If you get this product, definitely get coverage on it. I have been a Samsung loyalist for over a decade, but this phone makes it difficult to remember why.

Great phone, Less durable than last version

I picked up the Flip 4 after a year of using the Flip 3. Flip 3 was dropped about once or twice a month as per usual with me and phones. Accidents happen. Flip 3 seemed fine though. Was using a case, no real damage noticed. First 2 months with my Flip 4, dropped a couple times, but the other day I set the phone on the couch and it slipped off the side, fell on the hinge while closed, and then could not open the phone fully anymore, also resulting in damaged screen. I checked online and many people are getting the same issue. hopefully they fix this for cheap.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

In most ways I absolutely love this phone. It changes the way you interact with the phone, often I find I don't open my phone all day just checking the little notification screen which is great and a huge way to save staring at the phone and wasting time.
With the above said, out of nowhere, my hinge stopped working, and even though I have extended warranty it's a whole process to get a phone replaced, now that Samsung is going back to having phones with mechanical failure potential they need to do better with allowing repairs and getting same day repairs in every city. My only option now that my hinge broke, is to send it in for a warranty repair wait two weeks and then get it back. Who can be without their phone for 2 weeks?

Bought for convenience but love the features.

I initially got this model because of the convenient size. But the more I use it, the more I'm falling in love with it. At first, I worried about battery life because it was draining fast. It must have just been stuff running to set the phone up or something because a couple of days later the battery was lasting all day and still having 60+ percent remaining. Even a day out with the family and taking videos and pictures all day I came home with 30% battery left. This phone also has the best bluetooth I've had. Very quickly connects and has great range. Flipping the phone open may be inconvenient for frequent users, but the cover screen shows alerts so you can decide if you want to open it. Simple texts can be read and answered without opening it, so I don't often have to flip it open.
