Everything is great unless you are a heavy texter

I love how fast, how sleek and nice looking this phone is,neat features, but cannot receive texts over 160 characters. That is very frustrating to me because I rely heavily on texting - live in area where not good signal for one thing and don't like talking on phones.
They say most likely an update coming to fix problem, but don't know when that will be. Thought I'd let others know in case they are heavy texters.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, sleek & awesome looking
Cons: can't receive long texts

The features are great and phone works flawlessly. No major problems so far. It can be iconic phone if back plastic cover doesn't look cheap.
I'm looking forward to froyou update for this and it can't be better.

Still waiting for updates that were supposed to make this phone even better. A few months later and still nothing. Droid has already been updated twice. Come on Samsung! Get with the program.

The phone is great for the most part. A little sluggish at times but is expected with all apps on it.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, has no led light notifier

Really, really love this phone but at the time of this review I am having GPS problems. I have tried many fixes which sometimes appear to help, but the next time I try to use it, it has my location 10 or 12 blocks away again. Every other thing about this phone I absolutely love. It is the perfect size, it's beautiful, it's easy to use. I originally chose this phone because I'm also going to get a tablet. I'm trying to decide between IPAD & Galaxy Tab. I have an ITouch and I also wanted to get a feel for the Galaxy before I choose. One thing I don't like about the Galaxy, you have to uninstall the Market update before you can get a lot of the apps (Google Earth etc). The apps for IPOD also seem to be better. All in all, a great phone. I keep waffling between taking it back and getting a Droid Incredible though because of the GPS.

Loving this phone but...

I love the Android OS on this phone and it is almost everything you would want from an Android powered phone but there are 2 things that I really leave me scratching my head. 1. Bing is the default search engine and Samsung doesn't allow you to change it. This seem very odd for a phone OS that is supposed to be Open! 2. The OS has not been updated to Android 2.2 yet! This is practically the last Android phone that has not been updated and this seems like a glaring mis-step. Despite these two things I think this phone is one of the nicest handsets you can find. The size of the 4 inch screen and the way that it has been fitted into the smooth and comfortable design of the phone makes this a winner. If Samsung pays attention to the consumer the problems I mentioned with this phone could be easily fixed with an update of the OS.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, big screen.
Cons: bing default search engine, no android 2.2 yet.
