It works for the price I paid. The waffles are good (I use my own recipe). The waffle maker is tricky to figure out the timing between waffles.

The Browning Control Adjustment is very loose. It is hard to tell what setting you have it on. It didn't make crispy waffles. I tried different control settings, but it didn't help make them crispier.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent unit with fast heat and consistent performance. Directions are clear and accurate. The unit is compact and easy to store. The anti-stick coating performs as expected. Only issue is that the heat control slide is sloppy. It's hard to determine if you're on setting 4 or 5 or somewhere in between. Once you find your spot it doesn't matter much but if it gets bumped during cleaning....
