Solid, compact design with blazing fast transfers

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have dozens of M.2 enclosures, this one is by far my favorite. It is slim with a metal frame and accommodates all the sizes. I was worried that the tool-less design would cause the enclosure to come apart. I was wrong. It is easy to take apart, but after using it consistently, I am not able to accidentally open it. I have stress tested it by opening it and swapping the M.2 hundreds of times without issue. Its nice that StarTech gives you a spare rubber nub to hold the SSD in place in case you lose one. The thermal pad is also a nice touch. This enclosure is my daily driver and goes with me everywhere.

Works well, but hate the rubber "tac"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is what you expect out StarTech. The device is extremely well built, heavy and works with just about any device that has a USB-C. Even a Chromebook was able to detect this enclosure as "external storage". I like the details on the top of the device, make holding the device comfortable and since this has weight, this doesn't feel cheap and extremely light. There are other enclosures that are extremely light and more often than not, I have accidentally thrown those away when they were in between paper. There are a few places where this can be better -- namely have a status light on the top which would make this easier to notice and to GET RID OF and REPLACE the rubber grommet and bring back the actual M.2 screw as StarTech has in M2E1BMU31C. Replacing a screw with the rubber grommet is the only thing that is disappointing ...

I love the "No Screws".

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had these in the past, but it required screws that over time the holes would strip out. With this one, it is so much better with the release tab.,
