Reliable and Fast!

I've gone through 3 other brands of SATA drive docking stations, and with most of them I've had trouble getting drives to mount, where the docking station will give up trying to mount the drive if it can't mount the first time. With the StarTech docking station I am pretty much guaranteed that the drive will mount, as the docking station will keep trying to mount the drive until it succeeds. I also like how the indicator light changes to blue when a drive is mounted, and to pink when the drive is unmounted.
I did install a 4tb drive and my PC was able to recognize it. I have not installed a larger drive so donot know if that would be recognized as such. Overall happy with my purchase

it stopped to be recognizable as usb 3.o device after some one year of usage. Now works only with usb2.0 ports

Since the dock is still functioning when connected to a USB 2.0 port, then a software issue is likely the cause of the problem. Please check for any available system updates on your computer manufacturer’s website, as updates to USB 3.0 controllers often resolve issues such as this.
If your computer is running Windows, please make sure you have all the latest Windows updates installed as well.
Another troubleshooting step you can try is connecting the docking station to another USB 3.0 port, preferably on another system, to see if the issue persists.
If this does not resolve the problem, please contact us and reference case number 303-218741. Your unit is backed by a two year warranty, so if the dock is faulty, we would be happy to help replace it for you.
