Good Waterbottle but Fragile

i got this for christmas a year ago now and i really love the portability and straw but it’s a pretty fragile waterbottle. i’ve had my yeti for 8 years and not a single ding or chip in the powder cover but my stanley (mind you, i’m not doing anything crazy.. it’s my school waterbottle) is pretty messed up

I spoiled myself and bought the Stanley 30 oz. IceFlow Flip Straw Tumbler in Azure Mesh. I’ve tried almost every tumbler on the market but needed something leak proof and easy to carry.
I have encountered lid failure once, it was tight but while walking down the hall at my mom’s house the lid divorced itself from the tumbler and 30 ounces of water and ice flew down the hallway. In order for the lid to stay sealed you need to make sure the lid is super tight, which leads to the next issue - one must possess the strength of the Hulk to open the lid. Even my 6’2” 225# husband cannot open it without resorting to running the bottle under hot water for 60 seconds.
I have returned to my Bru-Mate tumbler and my Stanley is an expensive paperweight on my desk.

This cup is just very convenient and does a great job of keeping beverages cold. The main conveniences are the ability to fit into most cup holders, that a lot of the larger bottles lack. Plus I much prefer the handle that it has versus a lot of others. It allows me to put more than just one or two fingers in and carry it in a more comfortable manner for longer walks.

I have two of these and they both leak at the joint between the cup and the lid if the cup isn't completely straight up and down. Even if it's full and I just tip it towards my mouth, water streams out of the side, on both of them. I won't be buying more stanley cups. Not worth it.
