stopped working after 1 use

I should have read the reviews before I bought this. My old roommate had the 3-cup version that I used a lot and it worked fine all year, but she took it with her when she moved out so I bought a new 6-cup version for myself... and it stopped working after ONE use! I'm very disappointed because this product is actually really good and easy to use. I just wish mine worked properly.

As others have stated, if you read the instructions and helpful hints, the rice cooker will work fine, with no issues. Use the measuring cup that came with the cooker. Rinse the uncooked rice first. Add water using the corresponding level line on the inside of the pot, then add your rice. Stir in some salt, if desired. While cooking, if the water starts boiling over the lid, or through the steam vent opening, remove the lid and stir the rice for a minute, then place the lid back on. You may have to do this a couple of times, until the water level starts evaporating. Unattended cooking is not recommended. I had to stir mine twice during cooking. No boil overs or steam spraying through the lid. Rice was perfect. I like the small size. Holds just over 2 cups of raw rice, makes up to 3 cups of cooked rice. Great little cooker. I recommend it.

Misleading- Size matters

6 cups is misleading and dishonest. It should say 6 - 6 ounce cups not imply 6 - 8 ounce cups. A cup is 8 ounces to everyone BUT Black and Decker. Maybe you should measure in ml. instead. You can't fudge that.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
