It appears that the XL 61 is not compatible with this printer any longer. I will have to return and or exchange for 61 Regular.

Hi there,
I understand you are worried about the cost. Still, the tricks to deceive the printer are not recommended. HP ink is manufactured to clear specifications. Without it, your results will be substandard.
My wife used this ink to print test copies of her upcoming children's books. They contain detailed illustrations and the prints look like professional books, with very sharp rendering and accurate CMYK colors. It's also reliable.
