I print many photos and go through a lot of color ink. It lasts a while even though I use it often. It is convenient to purchase online especially in the winter. I'm in Central NY and it gets pretty nasty at times in the winter. It also doesn't take too long to get my ink.

Ink cartridge was poorly made. Its electrical connections to the printer were absent, causing the printer to shut down when it was installed.

It appears you received a defective cartridge. By the electrical connections, do you mean the copper contacts? Each cartridge is required to have the contacts to print. If yours didn't, then it is unlikely they would print anything. The best course of action is a return. Visit www.hp.com/us-en/shop/cv/returnsandexchanges for further information.
