I apologize for the result of your last cartridge. Eight pages would be a highly unusual yield unless you were printing photos. I would try to clean the cartridge, as you may have a clog. These cartridges are easy to install and last a long time (about a year for my home use. The only down side is that they are a bit pricey, but a better deal than the non-XL ones. I got this for a Deskjet Printer 1000 J110 A. I LOVE this printer, it is compact, I can easily print back to front (manually, not automatically) and I can easily print on Legal-size paper. I only wish that HP would keep the software up to date for Mac OS 12.5 and higher.
